You might think Mycroft is heartless sometimes, but you should know that he spent most of Saturday locking down John’s television reception and access to BBC iPlayer so that John wouldn’t have to watch the rooftop scene in Doctor Who.
Greg helped, too. Got John good and drunk before the episode aired.
”John, come out for a pint. Get out of the house. You can watch it online tomorrow.”
”Okay, I guess.”

”Greg, it’s saying Doctor Who: Angels Take Manhattan - 0 results found.”
“Huh. Well, I heard it wasn’t that great an episode, anyway. Not like the Dinosaur one. That one was the best yet. Brilliant stuff.”
